Omacor is a prescription medication containing omega-3-acid ethyl esters, primarily eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). It is indicated for adults with severe hypertriglyceridemia (≥500 mg/dL) as an adjunct to diet to reduce triglyceride levels. Omacor may also be used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan that includes diet, exercise, and weight control. The capsules are transparent soft gelatin containing pale yellow oil. .
